Christmas Day, Rio de Janeiro

We arrived in Rio last night after an overnight stay in Amsterdam in an airport hotel. I was very impressed by the in-flight entertainment on the KLM flight - and the food wasn't bad either! Decided not to unpack last night and instead wandered out for a caipiroska and some grilled garlicky prawns. Unpacked into our wee studio this morning and it's good to know we're here for more than just a few days! We had Christmas lunch on the terrace of the Arpoador restaurant in Ipanema, seen through the window here. Not a turkey in sight, but a lovely buffet (they're very popular in Brasil) and salmon wellington and suckling pig were just two of the main courses. Then back to the studio for a siesta.
