Frumenty pudding
Christmas pudding originated as a 14th century porridge called 'frumenty' that was made of beef and mutton with raisins, currants, prunes, wines and spices.
Today the pud I served up was a somewhat sweeter gluten free variety and tasted delicious with brandy butter, cream and custard accompanied by a glass of red wine. A huge glug of Jamaican rum followed by a dash of whiskey gave a beautiful blue flame.
