A kiwi Christmas
Well, Wellington sure turned on the weather today.....we've spent most of the day outside, some sunburn showing in the kids even when covered in sunscreen.
A typical fun filled family day.....early start with Sanata sacks being emptied, followed by French Toast and blueberries for breakie.
A Skype with our Townsville family was enjoyed at some point.
Bubbles with an intoxicated strawberry, fancy before's (take a look at my creation in the extra) started off the festivities around 11. Christmas dinner amazing, warm ham cooked to perfection, and butterflied lamb on the BBQ, green salad, Kumera salad, hot asparagus and broccoli wth yummy roasted tatties.
We didn't even start dessert until 4.30, Christmas Pudding with custard and brandy cream, pavlova, and cherry chocolate trifle.
My blip is a gift we gave the children which has been a hit with both young and old, here are Doug and Ella, with their other grandad and Harry at the other end. Called Crazy Catch.
Hot, tired, over eaten but contented. This may seem quite foreign to those in the northern hemisphere but this is how we New Zealanders celebrate Christmas Day.
For those just waking up on Christmas Day, have a fabulous, happy day, hopefully with those you love. Just been watching Queen Lizzies Christmas message.
Peace
Rainie
