Water Taxis

Zihuatanejo Bay is about 2km from north to south but a considerably longer distance by land so many folks take the small pangas from one end to the other - Playa Principal, the main beach directly adjacent to the downtown, to either Playa La Ropa or Playa Las Gatas. The pier is still under construction, so these water taxis are now loading directly from the beach, though this group is actually unloading this morning. You can just barely see the fishing boats, which also launch from this beach, on the left. Tranquil early morning water made this particular trip much easier than ones undertaken later in the day.
