'Deus ex machina....

....is a plot device whereby a seemingly unsolvable problem is suddenly and abruptly solved with the contrived and unexpected intervention of some new event, character, ability, or object'.....and so sayeth the gospel according to St Wikipedia. In this case the 'unsolvable problem' is a combination of the weather (damp and dreary) and me (a continuing general thickness of head and lethargy), the 'contrived and (un)expected intervention' is provided by an emergency cat......I lured him there with shallow promises of kitty treats.

Ho hum, a 'vista' would be nice but I suspect I'm going to have to settle for 'home basic' today......think I'll bake......cake is a great healer......
