Hand Needle Felted Flower
Tried my hand at using wool tops (wool roving in the US) today to create something 3D, hope you like my first ever felt flower.
Used a collection of wool tops called Deep Sea which i purchased from a place called Texere Yarns in Bradford UK. I was surprised at how little you need to create a shape. Can't show you here as only allowed one image so will add a link to my Blog when i have uploaded the finer details so you can read just how it was made.
The basics you take a plastic or metal shape, a felting needle and you add a small amount of the wool top to start your shape, adding a little more when needed to add depth and a different colour. You use a dense foam mat to punch the needle into while shaping your design. This flower took around an hour to make.
Am going to add a material back to it and a brooch pin and then add it to my Xmas present stash. Hope you like the colours etc.
Thanks for dropping by:-)
