Mono Monday...Celebration

I had just turned my oven on for baked chicken, when the phone rang. It was Aunt Lori, Lisa's baby sister. "We're going out for my birthday...do you want to go?" I turned the oven off.

I always felt sorry for kids who were born so close to Christmas. Lori's parents (also my in-laws) didn't let it happen, but some parents let the birthday just kind of merge into the Christmas holiday...taking away the kids special day.

That is her husband Steve beside her. He is our "computer guy" bearing with us in all of our computer ineptness.

I don't do math, but the birthday girl was born in 1959.

I kid Lori a lot, and she returns it (and then some), BUT...I love them both dearly, and would do ANYTHING in the world for either of them.

Her dad (who passed away in 2004) would annually say..."56 years ago, a little girl came to live with us. She didn't have any hair, she didn't any teeth, she didn't even have a name...and, all she did was cry. But, we loved her anyway."

We still do. Happy birthday Sori-Lue.

P.S. Since I am a color guy, the color version is in the EXTRAS.
