Changeable

Frankly, if we'd wanted torrential rain and biting wind, we'd have stayed at home in Belfast...

To make matters worse, it was beautiful weather when we left the apartment this morning, so we were completely unprepared for the onslaught when it hit this afternoon. Sydney Harbour, as you can see from the pic, was a far cry from what we've been seeing on our previous days here.

By the time the rain started, we'd already had a busy day. First, off to the Queen Victoria Building for a spot of shopping. Total purchases: zero. So, to my mind, a much more successful day than yesterday. And then off for the long-awaited trip to see the new Star Wars movie. I think all the hype had elevated our expectations a little too highly, but we all enjoyed it and spent our lunch break talking about every last detail. And we'll go again once we get home, I'm sure.

After that, it was a trip to the Sydney Aquarium, to appease the girl child. It was pretty good, and certainly lived up to the promise of seeing loads of really weird fish.

Extras include our trip to Star Wars, the Aquarium, and the bottom of the very sparkly Christmas tree in the Queen Victoria Building.

Tomorrow we're off to Adelaide and the resumption of a proper Australian summer...
