Candy

Went to see my spectacular sister in law in The Nutcracker. Gillian has been dancing since she was four, and received dance scholarships to multiple universities (she is a high-school senior this year). Tonight, she was the Snow Queen, one of the Russians, and a Candy Cane (above, left). She was quite fantastic. Not  only technically impressive, but also an all-out Performer. Great fun to watch.

I would have preferred to post the image in color, alas my camera could not make sense out of the stage lighting, and the colors came out quite awful. SO, mono you get.

I am having a wonderful time hanging out with my boys in NJ. Tomorrow, HD will lead Gillian in a pie-baking effort; hopefully Kathy, and I will get to sit on the sofa and watch dumb Christmas movies. Unless, of course, LM and Uncle Matt hijack the TV and spend the whole day watching football, while exchanging smart-sounding remarks. LM is in heaven; finally he gets to hang out with somebody who loves and understands the game on a ridiculously deep level (Matt coaches a small college football team). As LM is quite analytical and good in math, he loves all the stats and strategy discussion. Good times.
