Times Of My Life

Spoiler Avert!

The Bandits arrived on Saturday, for a couple of day of Christmas treating. This coincided with the last week of Strictly, which the kids and I love.

It was way past their bedtime when the first part of the show finished last night, so I recorded the second part for watching tonight, and then we had to avoid radio, TV, newspapers and internet all day to make sure we didn't accidentally find out who won.

We went to the movies to see The Good Dinosaur, whose name was Arlo (which delighted one of the kids!), and then we took poor wee Ida to visit Auntie Judy, who is a podiatrist.

Ida has picked up a really nasty verucca wart on one of her tiny toes, and the horrible thing won't go away.  It is really painful.  Judy tried her best, scraping off some of the surface, but it was just too sore to continue.  Her recommendation is to apply silver duct tape (yes, I was astonished too), which she says will starve it of oxygen, and the silver properties are curative. I do hope it works, as nothing else (including bazooka ointment) has.

Back home, after tea, Ida changed into her 'special costume' (a swimsuit top and a tu-tu, with a pink plastic 'tarrara') for watching Strictly, and we all settled down with fingers crossed that it would be our own favourite who would win.  Rocky couldn't contain his excitement!

Newsflash: Arlo and I lost out as Ida's celebrity swept to victory, causing her to do a bit of pirouetting and twirling before she accepted her prize of a Finger of Fudge!
