Bedding Plants

There was so much cloud about today the light felt more like early autumn than the middle of summer. Really quite depressing to look at the flowers in the garden struggling to put on a show with their heads drooping and stems snapped by the wind.

Spent the morning organising our church work party as we went about clearing out the field drains that take rainwater away from the building. At least it stayed dry and we managed to get most of the work done assisted by a small digger and its crew who had been hired for a few hours.

Afternoon was spent doing some more work to the new dog kennels for the gamekeeper who arrives this weekend. Its looking quite good now and is certainly sturdy enough. As I screwed sheets of exterior ply to the inside of one of the units I couldn't help feeling I was literally in the dog house! A bit tight and I certainly wouldn't want to spent any length of time in it!

Rained all afternoon and into the evening meaning there was little opportunity for a blip. Instead I stuck my head out the back door and blipped some bedding plants at the side of the house. Mostly wet Begonias, Marigolds and Petunia in the shot.

Here's hoping tomorrow is a brighter day!
