So tha'ts where Santa collects his presents!

Thank you all very much for your very kind comments and stars on yesterdays wintery reserve.
We took a short ride to see this masterpiece of Christmas lights that this year is raising funds for  the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation.  Since the family began their extravaganza in 2007 they have raised £11,500 for various charities.
FACTS   (taken from their website more here)
£It costs approximately £4.35 in electricity to run the display from 4.00pm to 10pm. That is approx £135 for the entire 31 days!
Majority of the lights are fully computer controlled which enables synchronization to music to create shows.
This year there are currently 9 shows with each show taking approximately 95 hours each to create on the computer software package.
It has taken approximately 30 days to put all the display up and wire back to the control room- aka the shed!
It takes over 250 meters of wire and 7 computer controlled circuit boards to achieve this.
We use low energy LED lights where possible, also the synchronization aspect ensures that the lights are not fully on all the time like traditional displays and over the season this helps to save electricity
For the brief moment when ALL the lights are fully on we approximately use 7450 watts of electricity this is the equivalent to boiling 4 kettles or enough to power 2759 iPads with max screen brightness!
