Cooper's Hawk ....

The squirrel in my extra was going to be my main blip until I spied this Cooper's Hawk (properly identified this time thanks to Kimb!) in the tree across the street.

I took a few pictures of him from inside our open front window and then decided to try to get closer.  I was afraid he would fly off if I just started walking towards him.  Then R suggested I get in the SUV and drive slowly up the street.  This worked really well .... I was able to get several shots of him before he flew away.
