fate brought us to this crossing just as the train was passing in our attempt to head back to the hotel. fortunately trains move much quicker in middle america (especially in the less populated industrial zones), so the wait is not so bad. there's a crossing near home that can compromise christmas if you're caught.

colleague is feeling much better today. we accomplished a great deal - mixed blessing as we are now waiting on others, which may result in what we call 'brown thumb syndrome' tomorrow.

i've heard tales of snow flurries back home already - scary.
