Passing of time

Time passes by so quickly.  
I wrote two long passages to go with this, then deleted them both.   Suffice it to say that the inside of my head is a very busy place, and I'm thankful that I have the time to think and not have to worry about about where my next meal is coming from; if I have clean water to drink and to bathe with; where I'm going to sleep tonight; if my children are safe; if I'm going to be discrimated against because of my gender or skin colour or sexual orientation; if my home is going to be bombed to smithereens any moment.  I'd like to think that the time will come when I'll witness a more peaceful world.
