An anniversary close to Xmas

I could have (should have) taken a blip today that had something to do with it being our wedding anniversary. We had a good day, friends we hadn't seen in a while called in and one of them said something about their wedding anniversary coming up in January. It wasn't until then that we realised it was our own anniversary - and even then there was some querying whether we had the right day. Ooooops! never mind, we'll pretend it's tomorrow and celebrate then. (At least we had BOTH forgotten).
