Amish Bakery Christmas
I made a special trip to local Dutch Valley Bakery this morning to pick up a few Christmas treats and to get my last Amish baked goods fix until they open up once again in the Spring.
The traditional little shop was bursting at the seams with all types of sweet concoctions; fudge and other chocolates, angel food cakes, apple dumplings, freshly baked breads (including pumpkin, banana and zucchini), platters of cookies large and small and, of course, the usual Pennsylvania Dutch offering... shoo-fly and whoopie pies.
After a considerable time spent perusing the bulging shelves I finally made my choices, bade the ladies a good day and was on my way...but not before I snapped a few pics of the scrumptious goodies.
Come and Look, Come and See,
What is at the Bakery!
Dazzling, Lovely, Amazing too,
Something Special Just for You.
Delicious Cookies, Cakes, and Pies,
Tons of Delicacies Before Your Eyes.
The Scent of Sugar All Around,
Goodies, Donuts, and Breads Abound.
Sweet Tooth Calling, "Give Me More,"
Starts in When You Hit the Door.
Cravings Growing for the Treats,
Have to Have a Load of Sweets.
Absolute Bliss as You Give in,
To that Tempting Sugar Sweet Sin.
