Ollie commandeers a boat!

Small hitch with the sleeping arrangements last night with discovering L was asleep under the bed in the small hours. She'd taken Baby Bum and her bed dummies under there too so she was happy.

Rain looks set to stay for the remainder of our break so beach days are perhaps out and rain mac & town days are in.

Drove the long journey to newquay, Cornwall. I do love it there despite not being a surfer. It just has a youthful outdoorsy peaceful vibe about it. A lot has changed in the 2 years since we last visited. I resisted going into the 'Glamtastic Baby' shop. J got a nice skateboarding t-shirt re-issue from his youth.

Next stop, Mevagissey. This was J's mums' favourite place in Cornwall so we've been regulars here for a long time. Pleased to see its still going strong. One of the last unspoilt fishing villages down here. The girls loved the pirate shop and very nearly made my blip with their skull & crossbones bandanas and supporting pirate poses.

Today's blip is of "ollie" and his friends. There's was a group of about 6 of them. 4 jumped down onto a raft and paddled over to a boat while 2 of them waited nervously on the harbour muttering about how much trouble ollie was going to be in when he got caught.

Many people stopped to watch expecting them to get soaked. Good for a laugh but they clearly had fishermen blood in their veins as they were a dab hand and boat stealing and sailing. I did chuckle as once they'd all made it on board without being stopped they couldn't believe their luck and clearly hadn't picked a destination. "right, where are we taking this then?" as they weaved it in and out of all the other boats in the harbour. Ended up doing a few laps and hopping out.

E made it on stage to better her last years score in the hula hoop challenge of zero. Massive improvement there, she surprised herself (and us!). She looked a right treat on stage with the pirate bandana, oversized toy story t-shirt and green converse shoes with odd laces that are always undone. Bless you kid :-)
