Getting Organ-ized.

It was my turn to do open church today, with Kevin. When we arrived, the organist, called John was there. The organ had broken and they had come to repair it this morning, but had to go to Cardiff to get the spare part. John wanted to wait until they came back , so while he was waiting, he played us some tunes on the small organ they use for emergencies. Kevin's favourite is Calon Lan, and mine is Cwm Rhondda. We sang along and it was magic. We then sat down and had a cuppa, and ate  the mince pies I took in. A young, smartly dressed young man called in, and was looking for the church hall, where they are still doing the Lent lunches.  We offered him a cup of tea, and   Kevin had met him before. Apparently, he is the Conservative  candidate  for Porthcawl, and is from Syria. Kevin said to him, Do you mind if I ask you a personal  question? No, he relied, so Kevin said, Are you a christian? and he replied , yes. His mother and father are from Damascus, which is a christian country. He is travelling to Paris ,to meet  his parents for a few days over the holidays. What a lovely man he was. When he left, the guys came to fix the organ, which took about an hour. They then wanted John to try it out, to see if it was working properly. The men asked him if he could play Rocket Man,  he said no, but I can play Stranger on the shore, which he did .When he had finished, we clapped. I really enjoyed this morning. I left the church and walked down to the gym, did my workout, went to the library, and got three DVD's which I have until 5th January. I should sleep well tonight!
