Progress With Our Garden
Earlier this year, we replaced 120 tonnes of topsoil in our garden, which had been stolen during the time that our first building work was being undertaken. Subsequent to the soil replacement the garden was re-levelled to bring it close to its original slope, shape and dimensions; it is still a bit low at the back edge of the pond. After this the whole area was re-sown with grass. Today’s blip shows the bottom part of this area, including most of the pond, which is about as full as it should be, but is currently covering the soil which should be present at the rear corner. The pond is now about twenty feet, by thirty feet, which is close to its a original size and of a very similar shape, although not quite identical to its previous shape. The second picture shows one of the Yew trees, which we bought today, to be planted where one of our previous trees was destroyed when the soil was removed.
