Kangaroo Paw!
This is a clump of Kangaroo Paws, sadly not taken in my garden. It’s a perennial plant noted for its unique bird attracting flowers and a bit of an icon in Australian native gardens.
I’ve planted my first one this year and got very excited to see it produce about half a dozen flowers, but hopefully, it will look like this, one day!
The flowers are coated with dense hairs and open with six claw like structures…. hence its common name “Kangaroo Paw”.
A bonus capture was the beautiful Rainbow Lorikeet, enjoying the flower’s nectar….
