The Newest Ornament

Jon brought the mail in and the gift fairy had sent a really sweet package from Canada.  I love this ornament and it has a home on our tree (in the extras btw).  There was also a great little book of poems "rooted in the soil of New England".  Thank you so much Paula.

Now

If only we understood the moment,
not the next, but this one,
in which the rain falls soft and straight, 
disappearing into the eager grass.
Already wind is moving the moisture laden trees,
the sky is lighter and the leaves throb with life
as sun breaks through the thinning clouds
and time moves on.
