Simon, my barber

We've both had a busy day as time gets tight before our trip. I drove with Helena into town and headed straight to my regular barber shop Dann in Kendrick Street.  You always have to wait as they are very popular with all ages.  Young heads of hair get very carefully groomed according to their wishes, whilst older gents like me get a good simple cut in a good environment.

I first met Simon, the owner, who is in the white shirt, when he asked why  I was taking a picture of the building works in the shop before it had actually opened.  I in the early days of my blipping and it provided an unusual shot.  I came back and he cut my hair and then let me take pictures which I have done ever since.

When I walked in this morning there were already five people in the writing line ahead of me, so I sat in the big armchair and picked up Mojo to read.  When Simon spotted me there, he said across the room hello and do take pictures if you want.  Music to a blipper's ears.  When the queue resolved, I was next in line to cut by Simon himself, which I always like, although his young staff are all good cutters.  Today he had two new apprentices in the shop, who are just beginning. They were brushing the floor and watching the various different styles being resolved on different heads.

My haircut is very simple and lasts me for ages, which Simon understands.  We had a good long chat and then when finished and I was paying i asked if I could take some more pictures, which he said was fine.  i wish now that I had taken a bit more time to think about the best shot, rather than rushing it.  I have added two more pictures to my 'Extra photos' including a black and white of Simon with his next client.
