Doorstop Fungi......!!

I went into my workshop to sharpen up some kitchen knives that MrsB was complaining about being blunt.
      As I unlocked the door I noticed this fungi growing in the log I use to stop the door open when I am in the workshop. That's worth blip I thought so I set up the tripod and put the macro lens on and fired a few shots off.
I liked the textures of the fungi and the grain of the wood in the shot.
Looks good in large with black background.
Would anybody know what variety of fungus this is?

By the way, the knives are very sharp now, so MrsB shouldn't have cause
to complain now!!
