Who are you calling a muffin?

Not me fortunately but Rosina who has probably already finished her last day given the time difference between the UK and Australia. I hope she wasn't too sad to be leaving, and even if she was, I'm sure it is nothing to how she is going to feel when she leaves Harry and Australia behind next week.

Last day at work for the rest of the year. Fly to New York tomorrow and I haven't packed a single thing. It will be panic stations when I shut down the laptop later today. That's when I discover that I have a serious lack of clean socks and pants and that the clothes I want to take with me need ironing. Still, what fun would a holiday be without this little ritual?

Oh, and a little warning about storing batteries. Rachel and Ross were disturbed in bed on Tuesday night by a popping sound coming from their study. Ross went to investigate only to find a fire in the desk draw. The culprit? A couple of those CR type batteries, the flat round ones, stored loosely in the draw. They had obviously come into contact with each other, shorted, overheated, exploded and set fire to the contents of the draw. So lucky that they had not yet dropped off to sleep. They do have a smoke alarm on the landing but it didn't go off in the time it took them to find and deal with the fire. Needless to say both theirs and our batteries have been checked and stored safely, in Rachel's case in the garage!
