AMBER FORT/PALACE!

We arrived in Jaipur today!! And we got to visit the beautiful Amber fort! It's built on a mountain side so we had to take jeeps all the way up and it got very steep at times! As we drove up you could just tell the architecture was stunning and very old and unique! As we walking in we learned a little bit more about the history of it, originally it was a palace! It has secret passage ways and lots of gardens and courtyards that were very interesting to look at! The most interesting thing we saw, was the kings wives rooms. He had 12 wives just to show how wealthy he was! And he had a secret passage way to every wife's room so that there would be less jealousy. We also learned that the eunuch was the Kings most trusted servant, because he guarded the Kings most precious treasures. It's very cool to see all of India's palaces, temples, and other ancient buildings just because we don't have any back in the states! Our country is so young in comparison to most of the world so we don't have such a unique and vast history yet or any of the old building that go along with that. I can't wait to watch the United States grow even more so that eventually we have buildings like india has to show our descendants.
