Blondie

Some of you may remember back in October I blipped  a little pale yellow duckling that was a different colour to all the other ducklings and adult ducks in the pond. When I last saw it, it grown considerably but was still blonde. 

The last couple of times I visited the pond, she was not in sight. Today, the first thing I saw was this splendid pale coloured duck standing out among all the plain brown ones. There were no other ducks of that colour in the pond so I am presuming it is the one I originally saw.

The odd thing was, the duck appeared to have 3 little ducklings herself and she was being a very good mother. I dont know a lot about the breeding of ducks, and am wondering if there would have been time for her to have a clutch hatch. She would have to have been a child bride if you know what I mean :-))

She was pretty feisty - attacked another duck who came a fraction too close to her ducklings.

I put a couple more pics in the extras. In the first extra she looks rather smug. Her colouring is lovely - shame none of the duckings inherited it.
