Music Aid

So, today I got to come along to Music Aid! Happy!!
Every year in December a glass box is built in the central square of a large Swedish city. And this year, it's here! Three show hosts move in to send radio and TV nonstop for 150 hours from the square to raise money for a "forgotten disaster". This year it is for preventive action against people having to become refugees because of climate change.

People call in to wish songs and donate, there are lots of collectors with tins all over the country, there are digital collection tins, celebrities sell special things like concert tickets at auctions, and private initiatives to raise money go on all the time, like schoolchildren baking and selling cookies and companies who donate a day's proceedings to Musikhjälpen.
Many famous artists are playing live during the week, so lots of people hang outside the box 24/7. A happy, warm athmosphere, with lots of dancing, cheering and encouraging hand clapping.

We did our part, we donated to a Star Wars trooper, we cheered lots and just hung around. Mum is pretty sure she and I was on national TV, for a minute or so, dancing. That's cool, but even cooler that we got to contribute and be part of the experience.

Go Music Aid! We're secretly in the picture...
