Virginia War Memorial

As a child ridding in the car with my grandmother and auntie, We would always pass this statue. I had no idea what it was but always wanted to get a closer look. Well today was that day. Close up, I actually got to see the dynamic detail of this statue. Also I took a look at the other surroundings. This place is pretty huge. Names of fallen solders who served our country. I don't know the background of this memorial but from what I've seen I feel as if its a symbol for what we all stand for.
