Today we shopped for Christmas presents, got a few more hidden away now so I don't feel so disorganised now.
Took the girls to Southend Club Shop this evening so Little Miss S could get a football and meet the under 21's team and some others. She got totally star struck, hid behind for a while and kept saying "that's Ted Smith, that's Ted Smith". One of the shop ladies saw this and came and spoke to her and said did she want to meet him. She did but was too scared to go up to him - so the lovely lady went and got him and Ted came over to speak to us. They talked about Christmas and the school football team and how she likes playing in goal and Ted was so good with her and said he would sign something for her if she liked. So she bought a calendar and he signed it, then he got Noel Hunt and Cian Bolger to sign it too. Southend may only be a League One team, but to my girl they are just as good, if not better, than any premier league player but she has a chance to actually meet them. She is totally star struck by them all and sees them as gods on huge golden throwns and is absolute awe of them. Those small acts of talking to a shy girl have made her year. I can't see her ever changing!
