Yet another incomplete Christingle

Last year I said I was hopping frustrated.

This year, I think I want to cry with disappointment and shame. The vicar did the talk to a jam-packed church. 240 primary school children, plus staff, parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters ...
He sat in a big fireside chair and read a children's story about being kind to people. He introduced the story as a story to help the children remember what Christmas was all about.

He had 240 Christingle oranges in front of him. It's simple:
The orange represents the world that Jesus made.
The red ribbon represents Jesus' blood, shed to save people from the punishment that their sin deserves.
The lit candle represents Jesus, who is the one true Light, that shows us the Way.
I think the silver thing is something about Jesus's Kingship.
The sweets represent the grace shown to us through the Lord Jesus.

Ok. It's not a perfect summary but how come he didn't even mention the Christingles.

How sad. I think tonight's was the worst ever out of the 15 Christingle Services I've been to.

It was N's last one, as he's in Year 6. Two more to go with young T.
