Here are my mother and Uncle David almost 80 years ago at their home in Thurso, Caithness. They are holding the family's chickens and the man in the background is probably my greatgrandfather, Hugh Oag.

I was reminded of an interesting story about this man today. After taking the train to Edinburgh and deciding city life was not for him, he walked back home to Thurso (he didn't like trains either). What is amazing is that he was in his eighties when he did this.
