Cover Design

Another damp overcast day and an emergency Blip.

This is a photograph of my entry into an album cover redesign competition.   It seemed appropriate to record it to remind me of what I was up to the last day or two - for far too long!

I'm at a big disadvantage not being a graphic Designer but I still found it fun to enter.

The idea was to select one of 16 iconic albums to redesign, using up to 3 images.   The list of albums includes - Bat Out of Hell by Meat Loaf; Abbey Road  by The Beatles;  Unknown Pleasures by  Joy Division; and Nevermind  by Nirvana.   However from the first sample entries it  looked like Born In The USA by Bruce Springsteen, and Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd would be the most popular ones to interpret.

So I decided to go for something else that not so many entrants would pick.  I went for  The Velvet Underground and Nico  by The Velvet Underground.  My idea was to update it with the inclusion of a tablet or phone but at the same time retaining the iconic Andy Warhol Banana from the original.  The background is an abstract bend in an  Underground  line.

Just a bit of fun.   I'm finishing off another one just now which may end up getting blipped if the weather doesn't improve!
