This morning grandpa Greg and Memaw left super early to head home to Nebraska. Miles and I slept in as last night he got to have a sleepover in our bed. His advent calendar today was to hang out at Mimi and grandpa C's house. This meant Mitch and I could get some errands done - us and the girls went to ikea and some other shopping and hung out at home, napped and worked on some projects before all going to pick up Miles from Mimi's house.
Back at home and before bed Miles took it upon himself to read miss Emma a bedtime story. Emma...can be VERY aggressive when it comes to books. She will charge over to you, forcefully sit in your lap and quite literally throw a book at you face over and over so you will read to her. It's actually pretty amazing how determined this child is. And I absolutely love that she is so obsessed with wanting to be read to. "Book" is also now on her list of words she says.
And Miles, through memory or word recognition and working at school and with mommy and daddy is starting to read. Whether it is his favorite books or the signs he sees every night on the slow drive home, he amazes me everyday with spelling, writing, and reading.
