Up in the Mountains

Over the last few months I've needed to pick a weekend each month to get up to the Cairngorms to do my Lairig Ghru walk - and inevitably this has been a bit of a lottery - at least in weather terms!

I did rather hit the jackpot this time - snow yesterday gave way to a beautiful early winter day today - blue skies, no wind and fresh snow on the ground.  And the Lairig Ghru looked fabulous.

The only downside is that at this time of year there aren't enough daylight hours to do the full walk I was able to do in the summer months.
