Mudeford Quay
Today was spent exploring the fishing village of Mudeford - it's a lovely old fashioned village famous for its associations with smugglers. There were some interesting lobster pot abstracts to be blipped but I needed Arachne's eye, I couldn't get the right angle on anything. This shot is taken from the quay looking out towards the Isle of Wight which you can just about make out on the horizon.
From the quay at Mudeford we took the passenger ferry to Mudeford Sandbank and walked the length of the Hengistbury Spit with its wildlife reserves to see the views back towards Poole and Swanage along the Dorset Coast. It was a blustery day and bitterly cold but at least it blew all the cobwebs away. There is a lovely, long, sheltered, south-facing beach which would be great for a day out on a relaxing sunny summer's afternoon (always the optimist).
