Devon plaque

I went with my son to Exeter today. It was fine until the crowds arrived in droves. I sought out some quieter spots and noticed this plaque on Rougement castle commemorating the Bideford witch trials. They were all prosecuted and sentenced on very flimsy evidence. The locals have tried to get them pardoned retrospectively. I came home mid afternoon and our son has just made contact to say he is on the train, thankfully a lot earlier than last night.
