Holiday Memories

When I was between the ages of 8 and 15 years my family and I spent our summer holiday in Dorset. We would often pack a rucksack with a flask of tea and cake from the local bakery and set off on a walk through the countryside. The destination varied, sometimes a village or a view point or somewhere of historical significance. Sometimes we went to the wooden hut which sold vegetables - unmanned so you left your money in a box. We considered it a treat to eat the raw corn on the cobs on the return section of the walk! We also visited local potteries and each year we came back with new treasured items to add to our collections. These are two such pieces of pottery - on display at Mum's.

Windy out this evening. Drove up to visit Mum this morning. Had a walk with Steve before dinner and am later going over to the hospice to see Mum again.
