International Mountain Day
So I give you a little known gem - the Aiguille de Varan, 2544m.
Situated to the North-West of St Gervais this forms the left hand edge of the spectacular cliffs that dominate our daily view (the right edge of this blip is the Pointe de Platé, actually the centre point of the whole skyline) if it wasn't for their proximity to Mont Blanc to the South these would be hailed as a world class destination in their own right - I'm hoping to lead some groups on some small bespoke tours there in the next couple of years.
It's been a lovely relaxing day - cold but fabulous blue skies - sure there's not much snow - but who cares when it looks like this.
& so to Philosophy Friday:
"Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness & growth occurs whilst you're climbing it"
