Wave cut chalk platform

I mentioned yesterday that the shingle has disappeared from the south end of the bay. I went back with better light as the tide was dropping to take more pictures.

The chalk platform is not at all smooth but a series of tiny mountains, valleys and pockets - a bit like that sound proofing foam - but obviously hard but also with just a hint of give in it.

On the way back up from the bay I got chatting to a bloke who had brought his dog over to the woods to train it to look for truffles. Apparently they will grow under beech and what he referred to as 'holly oaks' (Holm - Old  English for holly - Oaks). I'd never heard of truffles in Kent but he seemed pretty confident.

Yesterday I hefted the potted C-Tree to John. And decorated it for him. He was most pleased.
