The End
My old A70 has come to an end. It has been lying in a drawer for some time as the image sensor has gone bust. Now I got inspiration to see what is inside of it. It is put in so small piecies that I could without braking any plastic parts. Only few of those cables I did rip off as they were soldered. Otherwise this could be put back in together again..
Its really a show of engineering how they can pack all this into a small frame. Lots of flexible cables and PCBs used to conserve space. Most of the room is taken by the 4 AA battery compartment. anything else is packed very tightly together. Flash also needs quite big capacitor. Image sensor is lying in the center of the bottom row. It was sealed in plastic casing which I didnt get open without braking it. Right next to sensor is aperature and shutter assembly. Aperature iris is operated by very small motor and shutter is actuated by some magnetic coil. Lens and zoom mechanics are also very intricate eventhough this is quite simple camera compared to DSLRs.
If you want to have similar picture out of your camera bring it to me. I will tear it apart. I wont quarantee that I can put it back to functioning order. :)
