Tail of the unexpected

You don't necessarily expect to see a 6 ft statue of a mermaid outside the front door of a little Victorian terraced house but I think it's wonderful and would like one for my place! It also seems quite appropriate, given the weather today. And it puts me in mind of Thetis, a sea goddess close to my heart at the moment, as I'm thoroughly enjoying reading The Song of Achilles.

In other news, the only set time I had to leave the house today was at 3.30pm to take the boys to their music lessons; the exact time Andy Murray was warming up for his match at Wimbledon. When we returned home at 4.50pm the rain had come down, the covers were on and the players had just gone off :(
