She did it

My sister swam her first open water 'race' at Salford Quays. She was amazing and has inspired me to have a go next year.

She found the first part hard. She'd been jostled and bashed at the start which panicked her a little but at about half way, she settled into her swim.

She completed the mile in 55 minutes which by pro standards is slow but in our eyes she won and did amazingly well. It was the fastest she'd ever done it in comparison to training.

When she finished she cried and asked if she was last.

To me she was first.
