A Saga Of Canada Geese & RSPCA.
It was lovely to go and visit the geese down on the canal this morning just before setting off to Stapeley Grange , Nantwich . RSPCA sanctuary .This is where the oiled bird was taken and still is being kept . I should take this case to Parliament . It appears that Canada Geese were first introduced to England in the 17th Century ! To this day they are viewed as an imported species therefore EXOTIC . What next ! Thus only a few may be returned each year to the place they were picked up due to injury .( In this case Manchester Castlefield ) For this a special paper has to be issued and the numbers dare not exceed a set figure per annum So although I saved the birds life it may never see Castlefield or it's partner again . At best it will be put in a totally different spot .These Geese take one partner. I have lost all faith in the RSPCA and quite truly would never give a donation. The area where the bird was, was drab quite muddy with a teeny pond and netted over .See extra. No grazing either .I came away depressed .Above you see where it should be . All around the canal is lots of grazing .Then see where it is and likely to stay . Not impressive .
