Homework
Last month Miss E was given a homework project about Christmas food. They had to research and cook something Christmassy from around the world and write a little bit about its origins.
Seeing it was due weeks away on December 11th I put the piece of paper down and promptly forgot all about it.
Thank God one of the mum's at Miss L's play the other day mentioned it otherwise we'd never have remembered.
I bought some gingerbread mix in Waitrose yesterday but she said she'd rather make mince pies - as they are more Christmassy!
I bought pastry this afternoon and once we got home from school she set to work and made twelve scrummy mince pies.
Six of which will make it to school tomorrow!
Plus two miniature ones for the fairies!!
They are a tad on the rustic side but she made them all by herself. Clever girl!!
The miniature ones are currently on a little plinth she's made in her room complete with a tiny table and umbrella she's set up to entice the fairies!
I had a lovely lunch today with some of my fellow French students. We've finished now until the new year and it was nice to get together and have more time to chat than we do in the classes.
There was much heated debate - tax, education, welfare, the NHS, Christmas, Europe..... It's a good job we had the upstairs to ourselves as we got louder and louder!!! A lovely three hours!
