Swiss tour!
So our day started at 4.25am when Murray picked us up to take us to Stansted! A quick 75 minutes on the plane and we were landing in Basel, Switzerland! It's right on the boarder so we got photos of the children with one foot in France and one foot in Switzerland! How cool is that!
We made use of public transport (as we have a new rule of trying not to use taxis!!) so a bus to Basel train station, a train to Bern (the snazziest double decker train ever!) then another bus and an autobahn into town then a short walk down the most picturesque street I've ever seen, so beautiful! (Although as it's a steep hill it's a nightmare to walk back up!)
Our apartment is like a cuckoo clock house a meter away from the river aare, which is a milky, bright (is that an oxymoron?!) blue colour as it's full of calcium from the mountains and it's quite warm considering the temperature with windchill is bloody freezing!!
Straight out for lunch then back for some chill out time then out this evening to explore the Christmas markets. Just the smells alone are truly amazing!
A much more relaxing start to tomorrow before we head off on our next stage of our tour!!! We're hitting the slopes!
