Resting in the Stone Age
This is a CHAMBERED TOMB dating from the late Stone Age (ca 1700 B.C.), one of the finest in the country of Sweden. The monumental character is enhanced by the large upright stones around the tomb. Of the three main types of megalith tombs, dolmen, passage tomb and chambered tomb --- dating from the late Stone Age (ca 3000 - 1500 B.C.), the chambered tomb is the youngest.
This tomb is about a five minute walk from the summerhouse in Hunnebostrand. We visited the tomb last night at midnight also. Under an almost full moon and the bright Swedish night sky. Talk about spooky, this shot is nothing.
For the Record, this day came in cloudy with showers, which burned off to a weak sun.
