Time to go home

After a wonderful cruise (one of my favourites) it was time to return home. As we wait for our turn to disembark, I'm always fascinated to watch the luggage coming off the ship and also all the huge amount of food for the next cruise being loaded on to it.  Turnaround day is very busy for the crew, but they manage it superbly and it normally goes like clockwork.  Around 2,000 passengers disembark by about 11am and another 2,000 embark from noon - lots having driven down like me in their own cars.  The logistics are amazing - and that's for one medium sized cruise ship, there can be several cruise ships in Southampton all on the same day!
