Skiing, of course

With a classic Wanaka inversion today, cloud in the valley, yet sun on the ski areas, there was a moment of doubt before heading to Cardrona. In fact, as I lay in bed there was considerable doubt. I knew it would be fine, but I wanted an excuse to lie in! But what a day! Sunny, no wind, not crowded, and more good snow. Kids (big and small) loved it ;-)

Interesting, not nearly as many people here as expected. Probably due to a number of reasons. Lift tickets being $95 per day. Mt Hutt and Porters in Canterbury doing such good family deals. Lingering Christchurch earthquake economic impacts, on top of the whole global thing. Good for us, but maybe less so for the ski areas. But, maybe so ... less people, higher price, greater yield. Everyone happy?

All up, an excellent day, and even Hannah enjoyed the day. Wanted to stop early, but I think that was partly about getting home to the spa pool and accompanying treats!
