Twin Peaks

Driving along the winding road between Leek and Macclesfield, stuck behind a Vauxhall Corsa, who's driver seems unable to drive at more than 25 miles per hour, I am distracted by a white plume of smoke.

Turning off the road I expected to see a large bonfire. Instead the chimney of a wood mill buried in the countryside.

I took me back to 1990 and the opening sequence of David Lynch's surreal soap opera.
